Kundo Electronic Mantle Clock Mid Century Modern German

Hello, thanks for taking a peak at my auction...offered this week is a fantastic mid century modern clock manufactured by Kundo during the late 1950's or early 1960's. The clock is marked Kundo Kieninger & Obergfell Made in West Germany on the backside and again on the bottom. The clock works and base have a goldtone finish and are attached to a black and white plastic base. The clock face it white and is marked Kundo Electronic Made In Germany . The clock is covered by a removable clear plastic cover. The clock operates with one "D" battery placed in the bottom of the base. The battery operates the pendulum movement. The dish measures approximately 9" tall with the cover in place and 6.5" across at the widest point.

The clock is in beautiful condition - the clear plastic cover has only very minor wear with no deep scratches cracks or crazing. All three thin pieces of goldtone trim are still in place. The black and white base is also nice with no chips, bracks or other problems. The goldtone finish on the clock works is great with no wear or scratches. There is a small spot of wear to the goldtone finish on the top of the base, on the left side near the back(this spot is visible in the 7th photo above). The face of the clock is flawless! There is no battery cover present....I'm not sure if the clock came with one

Sorry about the white glare on some of the photos above (especially on the clear plastic cover) - this is caused by lighting and camera flash glare...these are not flaws or blemishes on the piece!

Finally...yes the clock is in working condition. it currently loses 2-3 minutes a day, but there is an time adjusting screw on the back, so if you are a bit smarter than me you can probably adjust it to be more accurate. When I first found this clock is was losing about 20 minutes a day and with some tinkering with the adjustment I got it close to accurate but don't have the patience to keep fiddling with it! The clock seems to need some adjusting each time it is moved, so you will most likely have to do some adjusting after receiving it...the US Post Office does a great job, but the package will be jostled some during shipment.

Once again, the clock is currently working but you will need to do some adjusting when you receive it to get it to keep accurate time.
