Lafayette? clear-cased transistor radio - kit?

Vintage 1950's transistor radio. Looks like a kit radio from Lafayette, but uncertain. Not sure if it works or even how it is supposed to work exactly. Looks like hot glue is holding hinges. Scratches and some stress hairlines to case. Nonetheless, this must be a very rare radio, as I have never seen one before or since in my 20 years of collecting. See photos, what you see is what you get. You will be getting no unpleasant surprises, as we too often do on ebay. What you see in these photos is what you will get. Check my feedback and bid confidently.

12/24/2007: Upon closer inspection, some of the hairlines look more like cracks - under the tuning knob and the volume knob itself. They are not easy to see because of theclear case. I have a tremendous amount of watchers and several emails with questions, so especially due to the high amount of interest this is receiving, I want to make sure the buyer is completely satisfied and knows what they will be receiving. I have also added a Buy It Now in case anyone is interested in using it. Thank you.

If t are no bids at the time, and you want me to change this to a Buy-It-Now auction, email me.
