Sensational antique Chinese ink-wash landscape scroll painting, signed Zhang Wo, after famous Yuan Dynasty, Buddhist/Taoist artist, active early 14th Century. Painting bears many ownership seals including Emperor Qian Long. This work is obviously upper echelon in every sense, and clearly the painting of an adept in Shuhou style (see pics showing detail below). Dynamic scene of waterfall and retreat abode in a high mountain pass. Unfaded, vibrant color and amazing rendering of depth, textures and perspective; beautifully framed in a white phoenix-figured brocade, and weighted with carved animal horn . Excellent condition, as shown , with minor wrinkling to frame, and no paint loss, damage or repairs. Please study all the pictures carefully and ask any questions prior to placing a bid.Overall length = 64 1/2 inches Width = 20 3/8 inches (not including weights)Sight size length = 30 3/4 inches Width = 15 3/4 inches This painting camefrom the same discerning East Coast estate collection as a currently listed hand scroll, "Seven Sages in aBamboo Grove" , after Wang Chong-Jian (Yuan Jiang?), bearing Imperial household seals and a frontispiece by Prince Cheng Qin.Check out my other items !
