I have no idea exactly what this gauge was from, but I assume some large boiler or steam engine. T are no markings other than those on the face....under the rim below BOSTON is " 17603 " which appears to be the model number. The key appears to be correct, but I could not get it to unlatch and didn't want to force it. The machine screws on the latch are loose, so the interior could be accessed that way. It has 6 rolling digits similar to a car or truck odometer. If you prefer a shiny brass look it could easily be polished, but I will leave that to you......it does have a great patina as is. Large brass body measures 9" rim to rim, 4" thick, and weighs 17 1/2 Lbs......window is glass. I imagine it is in working condition, but cannot guarantee it. It certainly looks to be a superb collectible early gauge....would guess early 1900's. The $25.00 shipping is an estimate and could be a bit more or less depending on your zone. I will invoice you the proper amount at auction close....no rip off charges.
