You are bidding on this large limited edition reproduction print that was taken from a 1940 book. The print was removed carefully from the ticking strip in the volume and is in near mint condition...no tears, stains, etc. It measures 11 3/8" x 14 3/8" and is printed on quality stock....because of the age of the piece is is slightly yellowed, which I think only adds to its appeal. The colors are bright and the image is crisp and clear. I will carefully ship between 2 pieces of cardboard in a clasp envelope for only $6.95 for the first print and an additional $1.50 for each additional print. This is a photo of the piece ... This is a blow-up of a portion of the piece The Pileated Woodpecker ( Dryocopus pileatus ) is a very large North American woodpecker .Adults (40-49 cm long, 250-350 g weight) are mainly black with a red crest and a white line down the sides of the throat. Adult males have a red line from the bill to the throat and red on the front of the crown. In adult females, these are black. They show white on the wings in flight. The only North American birds of similar plumage and size are the Ivory-billed Woodpecker of the Southeastern United States and Cuba , and the related Imperial Woodpecker of Mexico .
