You are bidding on a very rare and hard to find large Pitcher in the B&O Railroad's Centenary pattern made by Lamberton China. Pattern B&O-4 Ref. Luckin's Dining on Rails pg 99 & McIntyre's The Official Guide to Railroad Dining Car China Pg 19. It is a large pitcher measuring 6" high, 7 3/4" wide from spout to handle, appx. 20 3/4" in diameter at it's most bulbous part and weighs almost 3 lbs! It displays beautifully from one side with just a hairline crack showing on the left, near the handle, appx. 7/8" long. The other side has a chip under the spout which measures appx. 1" x 1/2" (it looks much larger in the picture), the same hairline cract referenced above extends over the rim and down about 1/2". You cannot notice the chip when displayed from the good side. The decals are very sharp. The crisp backstamp shows the Capital Dome 1827-1927 Scammell's Lamberton China Design Patented. Would make a nice addition to any B&O Railroad Dining Car china collection! DON'T MISS OUT! Hard-to-find piece from Lamberton Scammell's china! A NICE DISPLAY PIECE! DID YOU KNOW - This pattern is also Ship China! According to Daniel Krumme's Dining on Inland Seas p. 36, a large service of this pattern was also used aboard Columbia Transportation's Joseph H. Frantz. Thanks so much for looking and good luck! Email me with any questions. PAYMENT:
