we have a very nice collection of high quality machinist's tool, most of which were made by Starrett. These tools all came from an early wooden tool box, purchased at an estate auction, w the box was auctioned separately. The tools all likely date from the 1920's or earlier. All of the tools were very well cared for, and all are unmarked except for the Starrrett name, with no initials or other engraving except for the very early hermaphrodite caliper which has three initials stamped in it. They are untouched, and will clean up beautifully if you desire to do so. The machinist's handbook bears the edition date for 1909 and carries the name corresponding to those initials on the first cover page. The photos speak for themselves, and I tried to photograph the only significant flaws which are some drill marks on the V-block set. In addition to the machinist's handbook, t are the following tools: A nice set of toolmaker's buttons, Starrett #494; Number 161-C toolmaker's clamp; Large early patent surface gage, pair of toolmaker's clamps with bith sets of jaws; early Number 21 3 inch square; Number 18A automatic center punch; Number 300, and 400 6 inch rules; Number 271 V-blocks with one clamp; early Starrett beam trammel or compass with extra 13 inch beam; early Starrett fixed machinist's square with 5&1/2 inch blade; small Number 425
