IT HAS TWO STRONG STRAP HANDLES THAT ARE NOT DAMAGED AND THE SURFACE WAS NEVER REAL SMOOTH, BUT RATHER UNEVEN AND WAVY. LOOKS LIKE A HOLE OR TWO IN THE VERY BOTTOM HAS BEEN RESTORED TO THE ORIGINAL CONFIGURATION AND MOST CRACKS ARE COVERED AND FILLED, BUT YOU MAY STILL SEE A FEW HAIRLINE CRACKS AND T THIS PIECE WAS BROKEN IN PROBABLY 8 TO 10 PIECES WHEN FOUND AND YOU CAN STILL SEE W IT WAS PUT TOGETHER IN PLACES. THIS PIECE IS SOLID NOW AND HEAVY LIKE THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPIAN POTS SOMETIMES ARE..THE POT IS A GREYWARE UTILITARIAN VESSEL OF THE MISSISSIPPIAN CULTURE AND MAY BE ABOUT 500 PLUS YEARS OLD. THIS JAR WAS RECOVERD IN THE 60'S AND WAS PART OF A LEGALLLY COLLECTED GROUP OF POTTERY BOUGHT FROM THE HEIRS OF THE ESTATE..THIS BOX OF POTTERY THAT THIS CAME FROM, SAID MISSISSIPPI COUNTY ARKANSAS AND I HAVE NO OTHER INFORMATION
