This is a fairly large brass propellor salvaged from a large boat scrapped at Barry Docks some years ago. It weighs approx 27lbs and worth approx 40 pounds scrap value. However, although it requires attention it is too good to scrap, could be an interesting feature in the home or garden but I hope it may be of more use to a boat enthusiast. Numbers stamped into the centre "21,1/2 /15" suggests the diametre should be 21 and 1/2 inches but I measured 21 inches instead. "RH" is also stamped into the side of the center but I'm not sure what this might mean unless it refers to the manufacturer or previous owner. The hole for the drive shaft measures 30.16mms (1.184inches) diameter at the small end and 36.61mms (1.4435inches) dia. at the large end. Unfortunately, the large end of the centre has received some hammer marks where it was removed from its drive shaft and one blade has a chip out of its leading edge.
