we have an exquisite little gem of a scale. One of the cutest Postal Scales that we've ever seen. It was made by the Pelouze Mfg of Chicago IL. Works fine and is still accurate. The 3 sides and top have black metal covers with very dainty red and white pin striping. Exquisite Victorian Scrolled Embossed design on all the 3 sides. It has a brass zero adjust knob and curved top scale deck. The scale deck is 2 and 3/4 inches x 2 and 3/4 inches and is nickel plated. The scale is 5 and 1/4 inches tall. The dial is 3 and 3/8 inches in diameter with a nickel plated rim and a fancy pointer that looks like brass? The base is 4 and 1/8 inches x 3 and 1/4 inches. Patent date is June 2, 1898. Not Cleaned. The new owner can get the first hand look at its true colors and boast at this find. This is a show piece for sure and a great addition to your collection.
