Doll artist Linda Mason made a series of these American Diary Dolls, produced by the Georgetown Collection.Lian Ying stands 15 1/2" tall, and is made of fine bisque porcelain on a cloth, stuffed body with wire armature to allow for posing. Her features are beautifully hand painted and she has inset brown eyes. She wears a traditional Chinese style jacket with matching pants and slippers. Her green satin jacket is wonderfully embroidered with flowers and trimmed with ribbon. A tassled headband adorns her long black hair.Lian Ying represents a young Chinese girl, living in San Francisco in 1878. Like the other Diary Dolls, a book is included. Her 32 page paperback begins with a 101 year old Lian inviting the reader in for tea, and a story...the story of her life. Also included is her one eyed blue songbird (yes, it came that way) and it's wooden cage, her doll stand still in the wrapper, COA, hang tag, an advertising poster (not in the best condition, has some clear tape and a wrinkle) and of course her book. She will travel in her original box and shipper box. This darling was displayed in a smoke free environment.Thank you for visiting our auction.
