This personal and privately printed Christmas card comes from noted American pianist, actor and entertainer Liberace (1919-1987). It dates from 1976. A child prodigy, Liberace's career spanned four decades and included concerts, recordings, films and television. He was known for his flashy costumes and trademark candelabra which adorned his pianos. His film credits include South Sea Sinner (1950), Merry Mirthquakes (1953), Sincerely Yours (1955), The Loved One (1965), et al. His TV credits include The Jack Benny Program, Date with the Angels, Batman, The Red Skelton Hour, Here's Lucy, Kojak , et al. His own popular syndicated TV show ran in the 1950s and The Liberace Show ran in 1969. Big card measures 6 x 9 inches with Merry Christmas 1976 on cover. It's a mechanical pop-up card, whereby a 3D image of Liberace with his famous 1954 Park Ward Rolls Royce convertible opens up. Message reads at top and bottom: "To my many friends who have seen my 1976 Las Vegas Hilton show, and to those of you who have not, I thought you might enjoy a photo of my Bicentennial Finale. After all, this is our Bicentennial Christmas. If you look closely you will see my chauffeur protege Vince Cardell, driving my red, white and blue 1954 Park Ward Rolls Royce convertible. It's the only one in the world like it, and I own it! Have you heard that line before?
