The KW type Transformer is a transformer which the ability to run 2 train using its Controllers "A" & "B" that control the variable voltage to track to operate the train. With its 3 fixed voltages of 6, 14, & 20 volts, it has plenty of power for any accessories you may what to add to your layout. The KW was produced by the Lionel Corp. from 1950 to 1965 and was the second largest power postwar transformer produced by them.This unit was totally broken down, cleaned and resembled. During the resembling, both carbon rollers were replaced along with their pins with new ones, a new 6' power non polarized cord with the Lionel letter "L" on the plug was installed, the rectifier disc was replaced with a new 16 amp Diode , which will last longer & produce a stronger sound, and the circuit breaker was upgraded to an Automatic Reset circuit breaker which will react faster than the original Lionel circuit breaker.To bring this unit back to fully recondition status, it required just replacing Terminal "C" & "B" Binding Posts, the ORANGE "A" & "B" Caps, & controller's "A" BLACK KNOB. All parts replaced were with NEW REPRO PARTS. The bottom of unit was stripped, primed & repainted.The any carbon buildup that was on the coil was removed producing a clean surface for the new carbon rollers to make 100% contact with it.Once reassembled, unit was first
