This auction is for this Lionel #225E Big 2-6-2 STEAM ENGINE ... this is the Heavy , all Metal - 1938 / 41 version and is in good operating condition ... this famous Locomotive Features : clean Original Satin Black Paint , Nickle-Rimmed Baldwin Disc Drivers and the nice Diecast metal Front AND Rear Trucks...looks in very good condition but has a couple of issues : the rear coupler bar is missing , so the rear truck is a bit loose , [ does not affect operation condition ] , and one missing marker light as shown...Nice straight Cab roof ...shows almost NO wear on wheels and contact rollers ....The nickle plated Cab numbers are clear & sharp on BOTH Sides , and the Engine that nice Lionel Satin Black patina with the movable bell , ...Turned Stantions on the Pilot AND on the Handrails , nice quality detail......Full operating Siderods & Valve-gear...this classic Locomotive RUNS Excellent ..Smooth , Strong and FAST, both in Fwd. & Reverse , the three position E-unit cycles correctly & smoothly...Very Clean , NO RUST ! ... Original Boiler-front opens for easy access to the bright working lightbulb ...Overall an fairly nice example of one the scarcer of the Lionel Prewar Steam Engines ..opening bid is less than the motor & E-unit is worth...
