This book looks at the mighty LMS as seen by the news photographers principally of the 1920s and 1930s, and it covers a diverse spectrum of activity from Stanier's magnificent streamlined "Princess Coronation Pacifics" to the horses and carts of the goods department. Featured prominently is the London terminus of the LMS at Euston, one of the most important stations in the country and the focus of traffic on the important Anglo-Scottish trunk route. During the 1930s the publicity-conscious LMS worked hard to attract the attention of the newsmen and this book is testimony to their success, with a wide variety of locomotives both at work and at rest. Amongst the books contents are Signals and Stations, Footplatemen and Engine Sheds, Road Vehicles, Goods and Mineral Traffic, Wolverton Works and LMS Coaches. Hardback with dustjacket, part of a series in this format published by Silver Link. 144 pages thick, fully illustrated with black and white photos, each with accompanying written information.Very good to good condition with light shelfwear to top of dustjacket.
