The tales were always based on the country traditions and country folk she knew so well in her own childhood. When her son went away to school, she missed these story-telling walks and decided instead to write down the tales so that he could read them when he came home. She never told the same story twice, so the first one she wrote was absolutely new. From these happy beginnings t has grown the whole series of the enchanting little books." This lot includes: #1.
