Lot of 12 World War Two Army Air Forces Patches Includes Aviation Cadet Basic 1942 - 1945. The prop and wing on a blue background is an appropriate symbol for army air force cadets. The insignia is alleged to have been worn by cadets during their basic training courses. Aviation Cadet Advanced 1942 - 1945. The wing and prop on a black background was purported to have been used by cadets in advance courses. US Army Air Force March 1942 - Mid 1950's. The ultramarine blue disk represents the sky. The white star with red disk is the symbol of the army air forces and the golden wings up stretched form a "V" symbolized victory. Far East Air Force 1944 - 1947. The star and wings symbolize Army Air Forces. The Philippine sun and the stars in the form of the Southern Cross indicate the area of operations. Activated 3 August 1944 at Brisbane, Australia. Training Command Tab 1943–1946 The Training command was established in 1943 by consolidating the Flying Training and Technical Training Commands. Air Technical Service Command August 31, 1944 - March 1946 Air Technical Service Command was established on August 31, 1944 and was Headquartered at Wright Field, Ohio and was organized to combine the duties of the Material Command and the Air Service Command under a single Headquarters.
