A great set of three North Carolina pottery pots attributed to the shop of the late ML Owen, circa 1950's through 60's era. The smallest has a very nice rutile brown glaze with lots of heavier brown streaking and lines in the glaze. The middle pot is my favorite, an excellent sea foam milky dark copper green glaze with lots of heavy drips and drools all around. The entire pot from top to bottom shows differetn hues of green. The largest pot is an excellent and unusual form. A very wide bodied, wide spout imposing piece. Wonderful fat ovoid belly, thick neck and large spout opening. An expert potter had his hands on this pot, most likely ML himself. These southern pottery art forms are getting harder and harder to find in good shape. The middle and larger pitchers are to be heavily desired, either in form or glaze. The measurements are as follows, from smallest to largest: 6 3/4 inches tall; 8 5/8 inches tall; and 10 1/2 inches tall. The largest measures 16 inches around the belly. All three pieces in EXCELLENT CONDITION ; No chips, No cracks, No repairs! WOW!! All 3 pieces are unsigned or unmarked. Thanks for looking. Please email with any questions or comments.
