This huge lot contains an early 1866 edition of the poems of the gothic short story writer and poet Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849), a first edition of a novel, another book of poems by a scarce author, and much more! Here is a formal list: (1) "Poems by Edgar Allan Poe, Complete, with an Original Memoir" W.J Middleton, publisher, Mdccclxvi ( 1866 ). Small 24mo, stamped blue cloth, front piece steel engraving of author. External condition good. slight disturbance of textblock but contents very sturdy. (2) "Sacred Philosophy of The Seasons by Rev Henry Dunckan",(school library series) vol III of IV. Marsh et al publishers, 1839. 16mo ribbed green cloth with leather spine, steel engraved vignette title. spine completely rubbed, front cover holding by a wire, otherwise good. (3) "Halleck's Poems, D. Appleton& Co, a new edition, 1859 . small 24mo blue stamped cloth (not same publisher as poe book, yet has same printer!) Slight separation of binding on upper right corner of spine, page 11 loose but present. (4) "Euripides Literally translated" by Theodore Alois Buckly, vol 2, Henry G Bohn, publisher, 1850. 16mo, blue stamped cloth, steel engraving as front piece. slight binding separations on edges, rubbing on corners. (5) "The Poetical Works of Alfred Tennyson" Tinknor& Fields, 1864 . Small
