LOVELY SIGNED ANTIQUE CHATELAINE SEWING NEEDLE CASE Hello and welcome to my auction! Up for bid and your consideration this week is the Lovely Rare (see more on why below) Antique Sterling Silver Chatelaine Accessory Needle Case pictured. Measuring a little more than 2 1/2" long and almost 1/2" wide, this collectible case features the monogrammed initials GL (what it appears to me to be) in fancy script. Complete with ring at bottom of case that was attached to the old chatelaine it came with long ago, case itself is marked STERLING, A., removable cap is marked A.L. Co. on one edge, which I believe is for Aikin, Lambert & Co. New York, NY 1867-1931: Founded by James C. Aikin and Henry A. Lambert. Began as jewelers and became a well known gold and silver pen manufacturer, also making small sterling novelties. Acquired by Waterman in 1915 who continued to use the Aiken Lambert name until about 1931. This makes this piece EXTREMELY RARE. Condition is very good for it's age of mid to late 1800's with no dents, cracks or crushing that I see. Top fits snug into case just as it should :o) There is some wear in some places as shown in photos and patina from age, to be expected. A Simple and Elegant Quality Sterling Sewing piece! It will make a wonderful addition to any chatelaine collection or sewing display so Don't Miss It! Place Your
