A VERY FINE LUMAN WATSON, CINCINNATI TALL CASE CLOCK,

ca 1816-1825, in cherry and mahogany with poplar secondary wood. The hood has four columns and a broken-arch pediment that appears to retain its original finials. The case has a scroll-cut and moulded door with cross-banded mahogany veneer, canted corners, and a voluptuously shaped skirt and cutout feet. With a 30-hour wooden movement, marked by Watson, and with flowers in the spandrels and an eagle in the dial arch. Retains an old, rich finish with a desirable surface; 95.25" high x 17.25" wide x 9" deep.
