Mabel Lee Hankey colour etching circa 1910 - portrait a pensive woman

Mabel Lee Hankey (1863-1943) was born in Bath, daughter of the porfessional artist Henry Eddington Hobson. She married the painter William Lee Hankey and exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Miniature Society, The Society of Woman Artists and the Royal Academy. In 1907 the Countess of Strathmore commissioned a water colour miniatur portrait of her daughter, later Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, which is now in the Royal Collection.
