This is one of the most amazing pieces in our collection of things Norwegian !! We purchased it in Bergen, Norway in 1982. It is made of BIRCH wood and is handcrafted from ONE piece of Birchwood !! The finish feels like satin to the touch. The lovely lines of the wood itself is so very evident over the whole bowl. It measures 10 and 1/2 inches in circumference. The outside measures 6 and 1/2 inches high. Inside depth of the bowl is six inches. The bottom of the bowl measures 4 and 7/8 inches across. It is in MINT condition. The marks on the bottom of the bowl include an incised birch tree and the initials K B. The design on the bottom is a work of art in itself. Yet it is the wood that creates its own beautiful design.
