Vintage Spelter, Onyx & Marble French Art Deco German Shepherd Charming Mantle Clock with Matching Onyx & Marble Garniture Urns; unsigned by possibly L. Carvin (as many people have suggested) with a handsome high relief, gilt overlay German shepherd confidently climbing to peer out. The clock case and complementing garniture urns bear an impressive menagerie of black and rouge flavored marble spiced with a rich verde-green onyx color. Movement was crafted by Japyfres & Clie Gor Med D'Homneur the white enamel dial also signed adorned with Arabic numeral hour designations, spade form hands, bowed glass cover the clock chimes on the half and on the hour keeps excellent time and would make a superb addition to any fine collection.
L. Carvin, a french sculptor who was born in 1875, died in 1951.
