Maple Hollow Form Vessel by Doug Barnes

This auction features an amazing piece by the late Doug Barnes. This beautiful Woodturned Maple Hollow Vessel stands at 13.5 inches tall and is 3 3/4 inches wide.
Doug Barnes retired in 1993 to pursue a life of woodturning. Doug was President of the Brasstown Woodturners Guild for many years. He was the Resident Artist in Woodturning at the John C. Campbell Folk School and was instrumental in getting the new woodturning studio built. Doug Barnes passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2008.
This auctionfeatures an item donated to support the John C. Campbell Folk School. Allproceeds raised will help improve the school’s sixteen on-campus studios and further our mission. The John C. Campbell Folk School is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Founded in 1925, the Folk School offers over 860 classes each year in traditional and contemporary craft, dance, music, cooking, gardening, nature studies, photography, storytelling, and writing. The Folk School strives to provide experiences in non-competitive learning and community life that are joyful and enlivening.
