The Woodcraft design is Webster Marble classic that dates back to the late 1890s when he began making hunting knives at his Marble Safety Axe factory in Gladstone , Michigan . The Woodcraft is known for the dramatic sweeping lines of its heavy blade that provides a 100% efficient cutting curve. To many the Woodcraft is the most useful sporting knife of its size ever made. One hundred years after Webster Marble introduced the Woodcraft, master knife maker Mike Stewart updated the design and put the Woodcraft back into production. Stewart was brought to Marble's in 1997 to resurrect the knife division that had been in hiatus for twenty-five years. Stewart improved the Woodcraft by lengthening the blade and handle by a quarter-inch each. He also lengthened the ricasso, which opens up the choil area for safer and more comfortable use with a choke-up grip. As a working knife, the Game Getter handle is superior to the stacked-leather handle that Webster Marble introduced over a century ago. The Game Getter design is anatomically shaped to fit your hand, and ergonomically engineered to maximum the efficiency of the blade while minimizing fatigue of the hand, wrist and forearm.
