MARGARET SPEAKS, signed photo, Opera Singer

MARGARET SPEAKS, signed photo
Soprano Margaret Speaks sang much concert and early radio, including the Voice of Firestone, in the 1930s and 1940s. From Ohio, she was the niece of Oley Speaks, the composer of "On the Road to Mandelay."
This 8 x 10 signed and inscribed photo has no notable blemishes. It comes from Victoria Etnier Villamil's collection of photographs of American singers that she acquired while writing her recent book "From Johnson's Kids to Lemonade Opera: the American classical singer come of age".
