Marginalia: White Stag Male Fairy ~ Mini Bust ~ Forest Rogers, NIADA, OOAK

I have always loved the mysterious whimsy of medieval marginalia -- those fancies that play about the edges of an illuminated manuscript. This is a creature who might be captured there: playfully secretive and peeking into our world only for the moment it takes to glance down the edge of a page, and turn it.
He is a one of a kind (OOAK) sculpt in Kato Polyclay. His head measures about 1 inch, and from the tip of the breastbone to tip of antler is about 4 and 1/2 inches. The whole piece, with base, measures about 8 and 1/2 inches. His base is scarlet and gold patterned paper over wood.
Please Note: this is an incredibly speedy wee auction -- one day. Yet I continue to paint and fuss with him tonight, and shall put up more photos tomorrow (Sunday), making it also incredibly skin-of-my-teeth! He will likely receive some tiny golden leaves to embellish him further...
