Here is a large studio pottery green drip glaze vase by very well known California potter, Marguerite Wildenhain of Pond Farm. Very classic and typical form with high shoulders and very bulbous body. It measures 8 3/4" tall x 6 3/4" at its widest. The piece does have a 1/2" rim chip that has started a 1/8" crack. The crack does not go all the way through the clay though. There are a very extremely tiny, pin-point flea bits around the outer rim as well, but barely noticeable unless closely inspected. Wonderful green and white slip glazes covered the interior and exterior of the piece. She made a thick, spontaneous green drip on one side of the neck and bottom edge of the body. The bottom edges do have some volcanic glaze pops giving it some extra flair. Very strong speckled, red clay body with very thick walls. Clearly marked on the bottom with the Pond Farm jug impression. The piece is a bit wobbly when set on a surface, though this could easily be fixed with a piece of felt or something. A wonderful piece by one of the American studio ceramic movement greats. Pictures should tell the story. Buyer pays $15.00 parcel post shipping within the US. Thank you.
