Up for auction is an old marking knife. I have also seen these called striking knives. This one is about 8" long and 1 3/16" at its widest. T is no makers name on the knife. If it is craftsman made, it is very well done. The scales appear to be rosewood and they are riveted on with steel rivets. The steel body of the knife show the original grinding marks on the flat surfaces. Even the bevels of the cutting knife still show grinding marks. Just the very edge of the knife has been sharpened for use. The other end of the knife is an awl. What can I say about an awl other than it comes to a sharp point! Please look at the photos and if you have any questions, please ask.Thank you for looking!
