Marshall & Adams Empire Shelf Clock

Large Marshall & Adams Empire Shelf Clock, ca. 1835 Seneca, NY , with an outstanding mahogany case, original woodworks 30 hrs movement. Case has beautifully carved lower columns and retains its original crazed finish, great label and very good dial. The veneer is very good but does have a few pieces missing on flat areas. One could fix them or leave them as is as the clock shows very well in its present condition. Case is 33" in height & 19 ½ "width. The reverse painted frieze has some flaking but is original. Movement is complete and does run but strike side is sporadic. A cleaning and service will be in order along with new weight cords. The bottom mirror is old but probably not original to the clock. The hands appear to be original but the tip of the hour hand is broken off. Overall a great looking clock with just a little restoration and you will have a very collectible clock by a New York clockmaker.
