MASONIC GEORGE WASHINGTON SILVER PROOF MEDAL ONE OUNCE OF SILVER This proof sterling silver coin -- medal, is about the size of an old silver dollar Struck by the Franklin Mint for the members of the International Fraternal Commemorative Society -- (Masons). Membership in this private organization was limited to 1,266, which is the number of original members who signed up to form this society. A full set consisted of 50 unique medals being issued on an every-other-month basis. This medal comes from set #561 , which is noted on the edge of the medal. Rare medal, with probably only 75 or less still in existence, because of the liklihood of being melted in 1980 and more recently, due to the high price of silver. Wonderful collectible. .
