This listing is for an Antique, McKee Sunburst High Standard Compote. The form was commonly used to serve jellies, jams, nuts or candies with it's wonderful tall stem. The bowl was designed in a slightly cupped and flared shape, both available pieces are the former. Sunburst was introduced by McKee circa 1910 and is commonly known as Aztec Sunburst. The pattern features a large central buzz star with a cane and grid center. At each side of the buzz star are pointed ovals with crossbars and hobstars. Connecting the pointed ovals are rails with a picket fence appearance. The stem is multisided with notched edges and a buzz star base. The center of the bowl is marked "Pres Cut". It's a unique shape and excellent piece of Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG). The compote measures 4 3/4" in diameter, 8 1/2" high and weighs 1 lb 6.6 oz. Both pieces available are free of chips, cracks and fleabites. The feet have light wear. The glass is wonderfully clear and has a nice glow under UV light. It will make a great addition to an EAPG collection, for use and be a wonderful addition to the curio. Shipping, Payment and Other Information - Pictures are of the item you will receive.
