Metropolitan Museum of Art Sloane Design Shallow Bowl This is a very attractive decorative shallow bowl made by Mildred and Rafi Mottahedeh of the Vista Allegre Pottery in Portugal for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The design is based on the paintings of Sir Hans Sloane which had previously been used on the products of the Chelsea Porcelain in his home town. This design features an eggplant, a flower and a butterfly with a magenta trim at the lip. This small shallow bowl is a form often favored by the Mottahedeh's, especially in commemorative ware of this type. It is in excellent condition with no damage or handling wear of any kind. It measures about 5-3/8 inches (13.7 centimeters) in diameter and stands about 1-1/4 inches (3.2 centimeters) high. This pretty piece of fine porcelain from one of the most presitigious European ceramic houses is offered with a very attractive opening bid which includes free shipping and handling to any address in the United States, including APO/FPO addresses. For more fine collectibles of all flavors, come to the Yankee-Attics store, and see what we've found for you here in Vermont.
