Mickey Mantle (1931 - 1995), known as “The Mick” andthe “Commerce Comet,” played for the New York Yankees from 1951 - 1968. He won three American League MVP titles,played in twenty All-Star games, appeared in twelve World Series (winning seven of them), and holds the record for most World Series home runs (18). One of the greatest of all-time, this switch hitter was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in 1974.

In 1983, Mantle was hired by the Claridge Casino in Atlantic City, NJ to be a greeter. He was paid $100,000 per year for greeting high rollers and playing host at dinners and golf outings. This also caused him to be banned from employment with MLB for a period of time, and then he was reinstated. Here is a perfect example of a Mantle signature and a must have for any serious Mantle or Yankees collector. Signature is crisp and "Best Wishes" salutation presents very well. The salutation really differentiates this piece. You can very easily find items signed with just Mantle's name, but for value and resale purposes, the added salutation (without being personalized) is really the key.
