Up for auction is a beautiful set of four vintage Midwinter Pottery Stonehenge "Melon" bread and butter plates made in Burslem Stoke-on-Trent , England . These are an homage to the original Clarice Cliff "Melons" pattern (formerly "Picasso Fruit" ).
These four ceramic stoneware bread and butter side plates are in the "Melon" pattern and feature colorful abstract fruit with thin black bands on a white background. The bottoms are hallmarked Midwinter , STONEHENGE® , OVEN-TO-TABLEWARE , MADE IN ENGLAND . The dimensions are approximately 7" in diameter by 5/8" deep. This lovely set of four bread and butter plates is in very good gently-used vintage condition with no chips or cracks and very little surface marks or wear, there is some light crazing on one of the plates (please see all photos).
I am also separately auctioning matching "Melon" coffee mugs and soup or cereal bowls this week, check it out!
