mint 1930's parker beacon lizard wrap liftarm lighter

offered is a fabulous unused art deco 1930's parker "beacon" liftarm pocket petrol lighter. the luxury silver plated double wheel liftarm mechanism lighter features a lizard skin wrapped body. the parker pipe company of london was fully owned by alfred dunhill of london. parker "beacon" model liftarms are equal quality to similar dunhill liftarms. the underside is marked beacon lighter - has beacon lighthouse logo - lights in a flash licensed us patent 1022140. patent 1022140 was first invented by conrad hubert of new york in 1909 and was utilized on all new york or usa dunhill liftarm lighters of the 1920's thru early 1930's. there are a few parker 'beacon" liftarms featured in the bottoni dunhill lighter book as well write up for patent 1022140. the standard size "beacon" lighter measures about 2" tall x 1-1/2" wide and is in unused condition with original white wick. i acquired the lighter from a dealer who had a few new old stock "beacons". the unusual quality lizard wrap is original. the flint wheel turns correctly but is untested and should work with proper service of fuel and flint. an aged flint may require removal. the silver plate has typical mild age patina and will sparkle with polish. the fuel screw is tight and needs a drop of oil to open. overall - an important 1930's art deco parker "beacon" lizard or snakeskin lighter ... read more
