RARE! MINT! John Ek Dagger Knife, Coco-bolo Handle, No Reserve

This is a rather scarce John Ek dagger, in mint condition! This knife was made from a
Blackjack Applegate-Fairbairn blade and guard, parts that were left over after Blackjack/
Ek finished the Applegate production.
This knife has a 6" double-edged blade and a coffin-shaped coco-bolo handle and comes
with its original black leather sheath, which is also in mint condition. Probably only two dozen
or so of these daggers were ever made! These Ek daggers with coco-bolo handles were made
at the end of the production run for some similar Ek daggers with buffalo horn handles--they ran
out of buffalo horn and made a few like this, with coco-bolo handles.
In a letter dated Sept. 17, 2002, Mike Stewart, Past President of Blackjack/ Ek wrote about these:
"...We ran out of buffalo horn for the handles of the daggers we made out of Applegate-Fairbairn
blades and used coco-bolo on a couple dozen of them...Best Personal Regards, Mike Stewart,
Past President, Blackjack-Ek Knives, President, Bark River Knife and Tool Co."
This exceedingly scarce Ek dagger with a coco-bolo handle is in factory mint condition, together with its mint sheath. There is no Ek box.
No reserve.
