Minton Toby Jug Mug Quaker Man & Woman Excellent NR

Item Description

I am relisting this item because it was pulled by eBay. I had put the names of my other toby mugs I will be listing this week. This was a violation which I was unaware of. I am sorry for the confusion. If you were watching item number 180233466023 previously it is now relisted as this item number.

Up for bid is an extremely rare pair of Minton Toby Jugs listed in Minton's shape book at Quaker Man and Quaker Woman. Today they are better known as the Barrister and the Lady with a Fan. Each are in excellent condition, no chips, cracking or crazing. This unusual pair is finished with the white stoneware salt-glaze. The Quaker Man (model # 1140) is 12 inches tall and the Quaker Woman (model # 1139) is 11 1/2 inches tall. In addition to this glaze they were also produced in majolica, green, and green/yellow running glaze. These models were produced from 1865 to 1923 and the stamp used was used from 1912 - 1950. My best guess on their production year is between 1912 - 1923.
