NAVAJO TURQUOISE CHOKER STERLING SILVER SQUASH BLOSSOM NECKLACE,56 grams

NATIVE AMERICAN NECKLACE

STERLING SILVER and TURQUOISE

STAMPED

This is an Old Pawn necklace I found on the Navajo reservation. At first glance it seemed to be a typical traditional squash blossom necklace... Then after trying it on I realized it was a CHOKER. It is a rare lucky find... And it looks WONDERFUL.

So the necklace is really like a long squash blossom...

There is a double row of sterling silver Navajo pearls/beads in the front, on a length of 7". The beads have a real nice size. They are 1/4" (8mm) wide. It makes for a very substantial thick necklace.

The Naja and the 8 blossoms are absolutely adorable. The Naja is 1.5" long and the blossoms are 1". It is the perfect size for a choker, noticeable but not overly bulky.

Then the turquoise are fantastic. Kingman turquoise with this intense bright vivid blue. The turquoise are carved the old way like nuggets with a brut/rough finish. Just the best to make the choker so interesting and giving it this feeling of authenticity.

The choker is traditionally finished with a sterling silver cone at each end and the old hook clasp.

The squash blossom choker is 16" long

It weighs 56 grams
