Offered for sale is a nearly perfectoriginal condition Fisher model 800-C AM FM receiver and amplifier. With its 35 watts per channel of tube power, this receiver can handle any speaker on the market with clarity and depth of bass. Called "a functional work of art" by many, these Fisher receivers are among the best ever produced by America at the time and even today. If you're reading this, you know the 7591 tubes are wonders. These are RCA's and one original Fisher and all produce a wonderful sound for any system. Without going into more detail, see the article below on the 500-C (the only difference is the faceplate and the addition of the AM circuitry on the 800-C). Note how much more expensive the 800-C was when it was first produced in the vintage advertisement. This receiver was on a par with the best McIntosh, Scott and Marantz of the times – and some would say better. The amps sold for about one-quarter the cost of a new car and were unsurpassed in their day and by far a superb value today.
