The silent film comedy NOBODY HOME (working title: Out of L uck) was released in 1919 by Famous Players-Lasky Corporation and directed by D.W. Griffith protégé Elmer Clifton . This film featured an up-and-coming young actor named Rudolph Valentino who was soon to become a major star. The image features a close shot of the film's star, Dorothy Gi sh, seated at a table with a floral centerpiece and looking dejected. This vintage original still photograph has been linen-backed and is in good condition only, primarily because there is an area of discoloration over Miss Gish's face and on her left arm. There was a 2.5 in. diagonal crease on the top right corner which extends into the image area and a 1 in. and 0.25 in. diagonal crease on the top right corner within the borders only with a small scrape to the emulsion on the edge of the corner.
Portions of this film were shot on location at the historic Castle Green in Pasadena, California, an imposing seven story Moorish Colonial and Spanish style building built in 1898 which sits next to Central Park in Old Pasadena at Raymond and Green Street.
