Northern/Motown MARVIN GAYE Hitch Hike US TAMLA 1962

On offer is the Marvin Gaye Northern Soul/Motown US Import 7" Single "Hitch Hike" from 1962.

The A-Side is an excellent midtempo dancer with a stronger R&B feel than on his later releases. The B-Side is again a midtempo dancer but in an unusual, almost doo-wop style. Both tracks were co-written and produced by William "Mikey" Stevenson.

This was only the 22 year old Marvin Gaye's fifth single when it was released in December 1962 and his first US Billboard Top 30 hit.

This is the original US Import release on the twin globes design Tamla label but, unusually, this copy was pressed in Canada.
