A fine rare old Northwest Coast Tlingit hand carved and painted cedar totem pole dating from the very early 1900's. The totem features great expressive imagery featuring grimacing Bear's with captured human figures. Painted in great old and original pigments of red, blue-green and black. The totem stands 10" tall with a base measuring 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" with the word "Alaska" painted on the front. Note the deep hollowed out or concave back typically seen on the earliest of Northwest coast totem poles. The totem is a real gem in great condition. This totem will make a great impressive display item and a fine addition to anyone's collection . Please add $9.95 for careful shipping and insurance (USA). Good Luck and .
