Norwegian Antique Hand Painted Enameled Sterling BROOCH
- Source: eBay
The painting includes the dates '1814 - 1914'! This detailed painting must be of the 'family home'!
The back is incised '925S', and has a makers mark that looks like two intersecting oval-shapes. I found that 925S is a Norwegian symbol that "guarantees .925 Sterling Silver Purity". I found this makers' mark in the 'Collectible Silver Jewelry' book, page 124, w this is noted as a Norwegian silversmith designer, "not yet identified".
The back has a tube hinge and a c-clasp. And the pin is Silver, not steel.
This brooch is in EXQUISITE - PERFECT CONDITION!
T are NO chips, cracks, flaws or damages! This has been cared for in a private collection for decades. This is deeply tarnished with age, like 'black'.
Measures 1" by almost 2 1/8" in length.
The Weight is 12.1 GRAMS!
