Great 5-foot model of an Ojibway "long nose" birch bark canoe, by the late Bill Hafeman, Grand Fork, MN, a famous builder of bark canoes and models. Hafeman gained legendary notoriety after being interviewed by Charles Kuralt for the popular "On the Road" tv program, and also being filmed in a video by Southern Illinois University. Info on the Kuralt interview, a photograph of the builder and a copy of the video are included in this sale along with the canoe. In excellent condition, this piece has been part of a major, world-wide canoe and kayak model collection, many of which were on loan in 2008-09 to the Canadian Canoe Museum, for its display "The Canoe in Miniature". Offered for sale now only because I am downsizing my collection to concentrate on other examples. For more info, please browse ". Listed at a very fair BIN price; shipping is included in N. America.
