's a neat old pike or spear point that still has an auction tag on it from Lewes, UK. The auction house was started after the end of WW2 by the late Major Wallis to sell sporting arms amd weapons as most of these were scarce in war torn England. These collections came from exclusive collections and arms rooms from very old collections. Major Wallis died in 1962. Later they changed to auction antique toys (probably a fatality of the anti-gun political climate of UK). This point is probably from one of their earlier auctions as shown by the tag (I'm glad no one torn it off along the way!). I'm not an expert on Persian weapons but this looks to be quite old. The length is 12 1/4" and the hollow base has a diameter of 1 1/2". The condition is very nice for the age. It appears to have been kept in a relatively dry environment, maybe someones attic. The outside still has some shine and patina with some light surface rust starting to form. The detailed ring that surronds the hole at the base is brown from the surface rust, as well as inside the hole. The detail is very nice with fancy of lines and curves on the ball and its pieces above and below. T is one old rust spot on the ball that is about half the size of a quarter. The base has a fancy "pie crust" on the edge. And the point is also very well kept. Nothing has been bend, broken
