For your consideration is an early 1910s production Imperial Grape Carafe or vase in a wonderful, satiny multi color electric finish. The colors are peacock blue, green, shades of purple, teal with just the right amount of gold highlights - a tour de force of american glassmaking. The flaring top has a wonderful stretch effect that looks almost tiffany like. Imperial's purple is considered by most to be the very best of purple carnival and the pictures, all taken in natural light, prove that their purple was second to none. Actually the carafe looks better than the pictures, so bid with confidence! Condition: Finish is even and deep with no wear-through, chips, flakes or any other flaws. T is a tiny straw mark on the bottom but is part of the manufacturing process and I mention it for complete accurracy. This is a breath taking piece of carnival, difficult to find with this quality of finish! Please note the bottom picture showing the marie NOT the later production stippled IG marked base and this is a carafe, not the decanter or a decanter missing it's top. Dimension is approx 9" tall by 5" widest diameter. We will well pack carefully with lots of padding to insure safe delivery. Shipping is 10.50 & includes delivery confirmation. Insurance is optional but recommended. Can ship priority mail if you prefer. Email me with your preference.
