SWAZI HEADREST. DESCRIPTION: A beautiful slim style headrest with a lovely elongated thin handle below the crossbar. Made from a very heavy dark coloured wood - see pictures. Extensive signs of tribal use, including tribal repair to one foot. Not a tourist piece but the genuine item. These items are very rare and difficult to find today. SIZE: Height 5.5 inches (140 mm). This will be a limited edition of 4000 books only. The Swazi have not received the publicity of their southern neighbours for various reasons. This is despite the fact that the Swazi were also formidable warriors âe" they defeated the Zulu in 1839. The Zulu and Swazi are both composed of northern Nguni clans and thus many similarities are found in their art. Unfortunately many unscrupulous art dealers pass off Swazi artifacts as being Zulu. Right now t is a spear with a hide sheath on Ebay that is advertised as Zulu âe" it is in fact Swazi! This book will be a âe~must haveâe(tm) for all collectors of African artifacts especially Zulu collectors. The book will have 100 pages of A4 size and have numerous pictures.
