Offered here is a nice Civil War US Model 1850 foot officer's sword. It has a 32" spear point blade with a 20 1/2" median fuller. Brass guard with wire-wrapped leather grip. The blade is etched with "US" along with martial and floral themes. No visible marks were found that would identify its maker, though it was most likely a European import. No scabbard. Fair condition. Blade has darkened with etching turning a dull brown. Guard has a dark patina with evidence of attempted restoration.
